Greenfern is celebrating the recent approval of the Commercial Medicinal Cannabis Licence.
The licence has been granted by the Ministry of Health’s new Medicinal Cannabis Agency under the new scheme which took effect in April 2020.
Greenfern managing director Dan Casey says the approval of this licence means the company will be able to cultivate and supply at its Normanby facility.
“This is a significant milestone for us and this licence represents hours of hard work and research from everyone in the Greenfern team.
“We have plans this year for rapid expansion, and aim to do this while being true to our values - to be New Zealand's most environmentally friendly and sustainable medicinal cannabis company.”
The commercial licence will enable Greenfern to cultivate, harvest and supply active cannabis based ingredients and products which will be destined for high quality, affordable cannabis medicines for the New Zealand market.
