We recently teamed up with Wellington-based brewery Double Vision Brewing to create our very first hemp brew with our own New Zealand grown hemp.
With the team at Double Vision Brewing, we had been developing and trialling recipes for over a year and were stoked with the final result.
Director Dan Casey said it’s great to work with a company that has similar values to Greenfern’s.
“Double Vision Brewing gets our mission to show people that cannabis can be used not only as a superfood but to genuinely improve people’s well-being.
“Several thousand cans were produced and it was launched in November at Beervana where it was very well received. The rest were sold in a variety of supermarkets, liquor stores and on tap at Double Vision’s brewery in Miramar.”
The 4.20% Session Hazy IPA flavours consisted of Sabro and Mosaic hops with huge fruity notes with the dank and earthy nuttiness from the hemp hearts. Full of flavour yet light enough for a session.
@beerswithbrucey described the beer as "a little bit different, and the can looks great. It has a very light mouthfeel with that low ABV, and a bit of an earthy taste but tasty for a session beer. Overall, interesting beer which is easy to drink."
“Next up in the series is different style hemp beers, we will develop and taste these styles over time and release them to the public when we get the flavours just right,” says Dan.
